The current crisis is the result of the race for prosperity, success and wealth for years on end. The opportunities seemed infinite and the sky was the limit. Unfortunately this turned out to be a pipe dream.

If we have learnt from the past, we will not make the same mistakes twice .

Naturally IT-Staffing is affected by the crisis as well. The total amount of current contracts has been reduced, the profit margins are under pressure and sales are slow. Sales are reasonably good with our corporate clients. Big blows mainly happened to our strategic partners, the big software houses ; they are facing reductions and hard times. The crisis points out once again that the direct corporate market is the market we should focus on.

IT Staffing has a business model through which we only work with freelancers, therefore we have no IT experts on our payroll without work. IT Staffing has no debts, we are solvent. At the moment our profit margins are cut back and eventually there will be a turning point, however, we have not yet reached this by far. And, according to our estimation, it will not come to that.

The market will flourish again someday.... after 1 year, 2 years? Who knows, but I am convinced that we now have the opportunity to show to the market that we are powerful, independent and progressive. We must give our utmost attention to our existing customers. But there are possibilities we have to use as well. Opportunities to attract new customers especially at the corporate market.

How can this be done? It will not be easy …. there is no manual. The best way would be that we build a relationship with various corporate clients, and then, once the recession is over, we can go full speed ahead.

SCP stands for System Consultancy Partners and has its offices in Amstelveen. It is also a secondment company of freelance IT experts and does project business with among others: EPO, ING, Rabobank, Fortis, ABN AMRO, Shell, Canon, UPC, Nuon.

IT Staffing is pleased to have appointed Menno van der Meulen to manage SCP. Menno has worked with IT Staffing for more than 6 years and has built up considerable experience with our subsidiary ,Bariton XL. SCP’s current management will stay on till October 1st, 2009 to transfer all matters to Menno van der Meulen.
